
In addition to writing, Jeff Dingler is a classically trained actor and has worked both in theater and film for 15 years. Dingler started acting in high school plays at 15 and has been acting ever since, portraying on the stage such central roles as Tom from Glass Menagerie, Didi in Waiting For Godot and Virgil from William Inge’s classic play Bus Stop while concurrently co-managing The Wherehouse Theater in Gardendale, Alabama from 2011 to 2016. He’s acted in comedies and dramas as well as independent, filmed productions, including his own TV comedy pilot Ira and the King of Kings, named an official selection and award-winner at several film festivals. Ira And The King Of Kings
Jeff Dingler directs and stars in his original web comedy pilot Ira and the King of Kings, co-written with David Peterson, who plays the title role of Ira.
Ira and the King of Kings is an award-winning comedy web series that depicts our Lord and Savior’s return in the campiest (and raunchiest) light possible. Enjoy the irreverent pilot, Book One: The First Follower, in which Jesus returns to start the second coming but gets beat up by tased by the police and, in order to survive, must shack up with a struggling Jewish writer named Ira. Who knew the second coming would be so hard?

Two-Act Play
The Muselmann
This is Jeff Dingler’s first play, written in 2005 and winner of the South Eastern Theater Conference’s New Play Project Award. The Muselmann follows three Holocaust survivors—Eli, Yaduik, and Zigny—after the Germans have fled their concentration camp but before the Russians have arrived to liberate them. Against time and death, they wait.

Film Adapted Into A Play
The Breakfast Club
Enjoy this 2016 production of The Breakfast Club by John Hughes and performed by The Wherehouse Players. This version of this film classic was adapted for the stage by Jeff Dingler, who portrayed the central role of “the jock” Andrew.

The Glass Menagerie
Jeff Dingler stars in the role of Tome from this 2010 production of Tennessee William’s famous play The Glass Menagerie. This production was performed by The Wherehouse Players and filmed over several nights of performances.
